Cloud Based Security is here and Nexsys is an expert in design and implementation. We offer a true Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that can scale to your needs and simplify deployment and management.
Cloud Based Access Control
Whether you have one office door or a thousand worldwide, you can’t always be there to guard it and manage access. Our approach lets you do it all—allow entry, print badges, open doors, set schedules and see who’s in your building—from wherever you are (desktop or laptop, tablet or mobile device), through a single, secure web-based administrative interface.
Cloud Based Surveillance
View live or stored video of your facilities through a single, centrally managed Cloud Based solution. You will no longer have the upfront cost of video recorders and no longer need to worry about software updates. Nexsys’ cloud based video solutions keeps your cost of ownership low.
Cloud 101: What is Cloud Computing?
Very simply, Cloud Computing, typically referred to just as “the cloud,” is when you access a computer that is not at your location via a web browser or an app to store, manage, control and process data or things like your door locks.
What is SaaS
SaaS is defined as Software as a Service. SaaS is a model for software where you license it on a subscription basis and is centrally hosted on third party servers (essence of Cloud Computing as defined above) instead of it running on a computer in your office. It is sometimes referred to as “on-demand software”. SaaS software is accessed through a web browser or an app. SaaS delivers multiple benefits like up-to-date software (no more worrying about what version you are on), access anywhere, and reduced cost of ownership.
How can the cloud and SaaS be applied to Security
Just like in other aspects of your business, the cloud is taking over. For example, your accounting software. Years ago, you’d have one computer where you had your accounting software running on it. Anytime you or your book keeper wanted to access it, they’d come to your office, take the one computer where it was stored and do what they needed to. Hopefully they remembered to save and back up the changes. Nowadays that dedicated software is replaced with an online version where you can not only have multiple logins, but you can access it by just opening a browser, putting in your username and password and pressing enter. Or think of the popular CRM, Salesforce.com, which is cloud computing with a SaaS application.
How can I implement a Cloud-based physical security Solution
Within a traditional security system setup, hardware is installed at your facility and typically software is running on a dedicated computer or a server. With Cloud Computing and SaaS, you can eliminate the need for the onsite dedicated computer or server. Devices like IP-based cameras and access control card readers still report directly to software controlling them but that software is in the cloud, saving you time, money and headaches.
